The Galaxy S25 One UI 8.5 update is picking up several Galaxy AI tools that were missing from Samsung’s first stable rollout.

Samsung’s official One UI 8.5 rollout began in Korea on May 6. The Galaxy S25 series was listed among the supported devices. The new June build is a separate follow-up. According to firmware watcher Tarun Vats on X, Samsung has started pushing build S938NKSUACZF1 in Korea.

That matters because this does not look like a tiny security-only patch. Reports from early users show three AI additions. The list includes Prioritize Notifications, Summarize Notifications, and File Summaries. All three skipped the Galaxy S25 during the first One UI 8.5 release.

What the Galaxy S25 update adds

Prioritize Notifications is meant to lift important alerts higher in the notification shade. Summarize Notifications condenses longer notification threads so users can scan them faster. Together, they make the S25 feel closer to Samsung’s newer Galaxy AI experience.

The third addition is File Summaries. Android Authority cites X user kwj9809 for screenshots showing the setting on Galaxy S25 devices. The feature can summarize supported local files, including PDFs and TXT documents. That makes it a practical AI trick, not just another menu label.

What still needs watching

The rollout appears to be starting in South Korea first. U.S. Galaxy S25 owners may not see it immediately. The usual path is Settings, Software update, then Download and install. It will only appear once Samsung flips the switch for a region and carrier.

This also does not mean every Galaxy S26 feature has suddenly moved backward. Earlier reports around One UI 8.5 pointed to other missing pieces, including Now Nudge and some camera-related options. For now, the June update mostly fixes the notification and file-summary gap.

Still, this is a good sign for S25 owners. Samsung has been threading AI through more of its ecosystem. That includes recent work around Samsung Health generative AI. Bringing these tools to last year’s flagship keeps the Galaxy S25 from feeling artificially left behind.
